METROLINA TRAUMA ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Welcome to the Metrolina Trauma Advisory Committee (MTAC) website. Signifying the leadership of the Metrolina's Regional Trauma Advisory Council (Metrolina RAC), the MTAC is one of eight North Carolina RAC's instituted for purposes of constructing regional systems for trauma care and disaster preparedness and response readiness.
A leader in both trauma system development and collaborative emergency preparedness, efforts of the MTAC have enhanced community access to quality trauma care and strengthened disaster medical preparedness & readiness for all of its regions citizen's and visitors. The MTAC represents the thirteen county region surrounding Charlotte NC, comprising membership of twenty-one hospitals and ten EMS agencies. It receives its administrative leadership through Carolinas Medical Center, the regions only level I Trauma Center and flagship hospital of the Carolinas Healthcare System. The MTAC is committed to working with regional health care providers, facilities, and agencies in efforts of constructing an ongoing regional and coordinated process for the delivery of consistent, quality trauma care, and enhancement of its regions abilities to respond to and recover from a disaster. These objectives could not be achieved without the shared vision and collaboration with all regional partners and providers.
