F What is a State Medical Assistance Team?
F How do I join a State Medical Assistance Team?
Welcome to the MTAC Trauma Page. This area is provided to educate our viewers of the priority made by North Carolina and many of its hospitals to ensure its citizens access to the highest level of trauma care when needed. Throughout the state, this commitment is evidenced by a current compliment of (13) designated Trauma Centers comprising (6) Level one, (3) Level two and (4) Level three centers (See NC Trauma Center Map).

Supporting development of the North Carolina trauma system on a regional level, the Metrolina Trauma Advisory Committee (MTAC) is one of eight North Carolina Regional Advisory Councils (RAC'S), dedicated to working with regional emergency and trauma care providers, hospitals, and agencies in efforts of constructing and maintaining a coordinative, evidence based process for the delivery of consistent, quality trauma care. These objective's could not be achieved without the shared collaboration amongst the Metrolina RAC's regional providers; ensuring an emphasis of quality of care and timely access to a Trauma Center when needed. Below is a list of the trauma centers within the Metrolina region.
