A leader in both trauma care and emergency preparedness, the MTAC regions efforts have improved access to, and provisions of trauma care, and strengthened disaster preparedness & readiness for all of its regions citizen's and visitors. The MTAC represents a 13 county region comprising twenty one hospitals and ten EMS agencies. It receives its administrative leadership through Carolinas Medical Center, flagship hospital of Carolinas Healthcare System and the regions only Level I Trauma Center located in Charlotte NC. The MTAC is committed to working with regional health care providers, facilities and agencies in efforts of constructing a regional and coordinated process for the delivery of consistent, quality trauma care and enhancement of its regional abilities to respond to, and recover from a disaster.
