F What is a State Medical Assistance Team?
F How do I join a State Medical Assistance Team?
The Metrolina region of North Carolina has been an active participant in emergency preparedness for a number of years. The preparedness and response capacity of the region is dependent on the partnerships that have been developed between healthcare, emergency management, EMS, public health, public safety, fire service, businesses and many others at the local, state and national level. The coalitions have promoted a more efficient utilization of resources both public and private throughout the region. The MTAC Regional Disaster Office provides coordination of ESF-8 (Health and Medical) resources as well as management of federal ASPR funding that provides training, exercises and equipment to enhance a health and medical response.
