Welcome to the MTAC Trauma Page. This area is dedicated to educating our viewers of the commitment that North Carolina and many of its hospitals have made in providing specialized treatment for traumatic injury. This statewide commitment is evidenced by a current compliment of (12) Designated Trauma Centers including (6) Level 1, (3) Level II and (3) Level III Centers (See NC Trauma Center Map).

In conjunction with this infrastructure, and for purposes of “Trauma System Development, The Metrolina Trauma Advisory Committee is one of eight Regional Advisory Councils dedicated to working with regional care providers, facilities and agencies in efforts of constructing a coordinative process for the delivery of consistent, quality trauma care. These objectives could not be achieved without the shared vision from all regional providers ensuring an emphasis of quality of care and timely access to a Trauma Center when needed.
