Our Guidelines page is a series of articles and reports to help our team members and others to understand some of the more complex procedures that may have to take place before a critically ill patient is transferred. Some of the procedures include the initial treatment and care of severely burned patients and what needs to take place in the first hours of their care. This initial treatments can mean the difference between survival and/or death. Other patients may need rapid sequence intubation before transport can take place. This is a very critical procedure that requires many hours of training and skill in order to perform and is different from state to state and even from facility to facility. We encourage you to browse these links and become familiar with these practices, although you may never be asked to perform them. Once you are ready to continue browsing, just hit the “back” button to return to your previous page.
