North Carolina is in the process of developing a state medical response system that will enhance the state’s ability to mitigate, prepare, respond, and recover from a natural or manmade disaster or terrorist event. This collaboration includes Regional and Community Hospitals, Emergency Medical Services, Public Health, Long Term Care, Hospice and Home Health Agencies, and Community Health Centers under the guidance of the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services     (NCOEMS); the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management (NCEM); and the North Carolina Division of Public Health –Preparedness and Response (NCPH). The state medical response system will ensure a coordinated disaster response that will enhance the citizen’s and guest’s ability to obtain medical care in a disaster.
